History

Fast Forward Restart was formed in September, 2005. In November, 2005 we launched our program with our first workshop consisting of 18 small business owners from New Orleans who had been affected by Hurricane Katrina.  Each participant left that workshop re-focused and re-energized.  They were each partnered with a professional business coach, for 90-days, to support them in staying on the rebuilding track in the very tough environment they each faced. Since then over 250 small businesses and nonprofit organizations have benefited from Fast Forward Restart training and coaching.

Since 2010 the Fast Forward Restart Project has focused on the New Orleans East community.  The Project was expanded to include economic development through the creation of a local Advisory Board, the Fast Forward Community Roundtable, and Roundtable Working Groups.  The Roundtable Working Groups were formed to implement goals established by the community in pursuit of the vision of New Orleans East as a  vibrant, diverse and safe community that embraces innovation, new technologies, environmental sustainability and collaboration. It is a leader in global manufacturing, logistics and distribution, and entrepreneurship.  It celebrates a unique quality of life with state of the art education, healthcare and community services,  while also providing unmatched cultural, entertainment and recreational opportunities for residents.
